About Us

The Story

Leopard Waters is lovingly owned by Andrew and Dee Hudson. We established our self-catering accommodation in Struisbaai to share the beauty of the area we call our home. However, the name Leopard Waters was born much further afield…

Many years ago…

Our story begins in a Southeast African country, well before the days of cellphone cameras. Dawn broke over Lake Malawi as Andrew flew eastwards over its placid waters. Looking down, Andrew saw an ethereal layer of clouds emanating from cooking fires on the Great Lake’s shores. Spreading lazily across a section of the lake’s surface, the clouds momentarily transformed into an intricate array of circular shapes.

This breathtaking aerial vista resembled a leopard’s dappled coat, with its patterns etched into the lake’s dark surface by the sun’s golden rays. Thereafter, the phrase Leopard Waters became synonymous in our minds with balance, tranquility and rare beauty.

We want to share something of this experience (and the feelings it evoked) with every guest at Leopard Waters.
